Since
its inception in 1979 as the Henry A. Long Company, The Long Companies
has developed over three million square feet of commercial office
space in the Northern Virginia region and has earned the firm a
reputation for setting the standards for quality in the industry.
Through the years, each step of the way, we have earned our reputation
for quality and integrity.
Two of the largest Long projects are Westfields, the International
Corporate Center at Dulles and Westwood Corporate Center in Tysons
Corner. Westfields is an 1,100 acre office park that began as Henry
Long's vision of raw corn fields and matured into the corporate
home for The National Reconnaissance Office, Ford Motor Company,
Marriott, American Systems Corporation, Boeing, MCI, TASC, Scitor
as well as many other local and national firms. With Westfields
the Long Companies garnered awards for master planning, Class A
building design (Ridgewood I), Flex building design (Lakeside I),
Special Purpose Building (The Conference Center) and Landscape design.
As the master developer for these two parks we demonstrated our
ability to function in every area of real estate development from
land use planning and acquisition to project design, construction
supervision, asset management and project leasing. We have proven
our versatility by developing a wide array of building types on
sites throughout the metropolitan area and have successfully developed
buildings on a speculative basis, in pre-leased situations and with
the parameter of build-to-suit arrangements.
On an international scale, The Long Companies has provided its expertise
on a consulting basis to foreign governments as we have tackled
the challenges of bringing major third world cities into the 21st
Century.
