Henry
Long is a native Virginian. He was born in Arlington, Virginia
and graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Business
Administration in 1959. The fact that, during those college
years, he spent his summers working with field surveying crews
and in residential construction throughout the Northern Virginia
region later proved to be significant. After completing college,
he entered the Air Force where he spent several years years
serving as a pilot with the Strategic Air Command. While on
that active duty and later, while a Reservist with the Military
Airlift Command, he entered the commercial and industrial
real estate brokerage field. In 1968, he co-founded the brokerage
firm of Long and Foster with Wes Foster where he served as
a Partner and senior corporate officer until 1979. During
that time, he made his entry into the development field with
land and apartment building developments in Fredericksburg
and Manassas and industrial and office building developments
in Fairfax and Reston. When Merrill Lynch attempted to buy
the company in 1979, he took the opportunity to sell his half
of the company to Wes Foster and created the Henry A. Long
Company to pursue commercial development.
During the early eighties, he continued his land and building
development activities, completing the apartment projects
that had been initiated prior to his sale of Long and Foster
as well as industrial buildings in Merrifield and the Westwood
Office Park and several associated buildings therein. In 1985,
the 1100-acre land acquisition and design work for the Westfields
Corporate Center began. One of the largest and best office
parks in the Washington region, Westfields' ultimate build-out
was planned to be eighteen to nineteen million square feet
- an amount equal in area to the initial office square footage
build-out of all of Tysons Corner.

Born
in Fairfax, Virginia, Brian joined the company in 1998 after

to join the industrial division of Coldwell Banker in Northern
Virginia where he learned the real estate business and worked
quite successfully until joining The Long Property Company
in 1998.
A University of Virginia graduate, Brian grew up in a business
family and has proven himself quite adept at all of the investment
aspects of our real estate operations as well as taking naturally
to the real estate development process. He has completed several
of the Company's building projects, most recently the 435-unit
Halstead project at the Dunn Loring Metro Station. Additionally,
Brian works extremely well with the political requirements

currently serves as President and Chief Operating Officer
of all The Long Companies.
